  United Center

The Chicago neighborhood of United Center is undergoing very rapid developement. This construction boom is headed by the second phase of the Henry Horner development project, adding 765 new units to the 200 already constructed, along side dozens of other smaller developments.

The neighborhood is close to the city, Loop, expressways, but still extremely affordable. Sometimes referred to as Chicago's Near West Side, and considered by many to be the western edge of the West Loop, United Center Park is host to the neighborhood's livelihood, the United Center (1901 W. Madison), home to the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks and the NBA's Chicago Bulls. A $175 million structure, the United Center opened in 1994 and, in addition to professional sports, it is also a center for concerts in Chicago. United Center Park is located just west of Ashland Avenue and east of Garfield Park at Western. Expect a lively crowd in the surrounding nightlife, especially on game nights.

I-290 runs through the neighborhood, and the El Green and Blue Lines run at its northern and southern edges, respectively, making this area eminently accessible from any other point in the city by car, bus, train or subway.
